Japanese as a Language Other Than English
Bluff State School currently offers Japanese to all students from Prep. Lessons are conducted online through the Capricornia School of Distance Education. Preps and 1s experience lessons through a web camera on the interactive whiteboard, while Year 4-6 work on their individual laptops.
From 2019, Bluff State School is participating in the Early Learning Languages Australia F-2 Schools Trial. ELLA is a fun and easy digital language program for children from Prep to Year 2 and is an Australian Government initiative aimed at encouraging more students to study language.
In 2019, our Prep students will be taking part, and will follow the program through to Year 2.
